About Klaus Mair

Klaus Mair from Schruns, Montafon, Austria is an Austrian Level 3 Ski Instructor (Staatlich geprüfter Skilehrer) with a master’s degree in Physical Education and Mathematics from the University of Vienna.

Klaus started to teach skiing at age 16 and since 2005 has worked as a year-round, full time ski instructor, ski race coach and snow sports school manager in the US (Mammoth), Austria (Schruns, Zürs) and New Zealand (Treble Cone).

Klaus has founded Sofa Ski School in 2007, is the author of two best selling ski instructional videos and one of the pioneers in using online marketing channels to make quality ski instruction more accessible to skiers.

Since 2010 Sofa Ski School/SOFASKI.COM has been the only ski school worldwide that offers Ski Instructional Videos, Online Training Planning and Ski Analysis services as well as Private Coaching and Ski Improvement Camps on snow.

In the last 10 years Klaus could heavily specialize in helping recreational skiers improve their skiing. He works with over 350 skiers per year and offers Private Coaching in Austria as well as Sofa Ski Camps in Austria, New Zealand and Japan.
